The fourth installment in Jennifer L. Armentrout's "Wait For You" series has arrived!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with these books, you
seriously need to pick up them up...now!
As for the current release, here's a little bit about
"Fall With Me":
Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing
extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind
of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night
they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and
future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not
once, but twice.
Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care
facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who
put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy.
She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to
receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating
violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed
one life already.
But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and
even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her.
Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy
and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.
Having been a devoted fan to the contemporary series, I was
over the moon when I heard about the next release, even more when I found out
that Goodreads was hosting a giveaway for the latest book. Now, I've never had
any kind of luck with contests before...like, ever. I'm honestly about as lucky
as a black cat sitting beneath an open ladder after spilling a gallon of salt.
Yep, it's that bad.
So imagine my shock and utter excitement when I find an
e-mail in my inbox in February that says I've been selected as one of the
winners for the giveaway.
After a healthy fan-girling fit which included screaming
excitedly at my laptop (which drew some unwanted attention from the other
customers in the café...sorry about that), I read the rest of the e-mail. Sent
on February 19th, it said I should wait a few weeks (4-6) to receive the book
in question. A month later, and I was itching to get my hands on it.
Uncertain as to how the package would arrive, I'd race
outside eagerly after the mailman arrived and would check the front porch
several times a day...
The more time that ticked away, the more restless I became.
"Fall With Me" was set to be released on March 31st, and the date
came and gone.
Still no book.
It had almost been six weeks, and the book was already out.
What if it never came?
What if it got lost in the mail?
What if an evil book troll was roaming the neighborhood
stealing previous paperbacks from their rightful owners?!?!
Okay, perhaps not the last, but with my luck, it wouldn't shock me.
Then come April 1st, I find a package on my porch. Could it be? Really? After all, it is April Fools. Since I'd mentioned my bookish conundrum to both family and friends, this could easily be a cruel joke of theirs. They all know how much I love reading, so to imagine opening the package with the hopes of seeing my long-awaited treasure, only to discover a copy of my tenth grade Biology textbook wouldn't surprise me.
Bracing myself for whatever could be inside, I'm genuinely elated to find.....
MY BOOK!!!!!!
And it's so pretty!!
Spending Easter weekend with this gorgeous read is pretty much the cherry on top of a delicious Sundae. Greatest thanks goes out to Jennifer and Goodreads for this amazing gift!
